Changelog

New updates and improvements at Prestart

Cover Image for Custom fault workflow

Custom fault workflow

Each workshop has their own process and way of working, which is why you can now create and edit your own statuses for faults. Go to the "Settings" sections, and click "Edit workflow" to add or change the steps a fault can through.

Each status in your workflow can be categorised as Unstarted, Started, or Completed. Their order and colour can also be changed so it makes sense for your business. Every reference to a fault throughout the system now contains the relevant status colour and icon, making it easy to know where faults are at with a glance.

Comments

Each fault now has an activity section below the main title, description and image. Your team can post comments against each fault and ensure any online of offline discussions are recorded.

You can be alerted when someone makes a comment by going to "My Profile" and selecting the "Comments on faults" notification option. This will create a new notification in your inbox every time a comment is made from someone else.

App updates

  • You can now search for a machine, saving the need to scroll through a potentially long list if items.

  • When scanning a QR code that hasn't been created from the Prestart system, an error will now show and prompt the operator to select from the list in machines instead.

  • Behind the scenes changes to ensure new custom statuses display on the ongoing faults section for each machine.

Cover Image for Link existing fault

Link existing fault

When an ongoing fault is reported via a prestart on multiple occasions, you can now action the report and resolve the prestart by linking it to an existing fault for that machine. Simply click the "Resolve" button on a checklist item, select "Link existing fault", then search or select a fault from the popup.

This now means multiple prestarts can be linked to a single fault, and the list of these prestarts will display on the fault for reference. To view the linked prestart, simply click on the chip that shows its ID.

Manually resolve items

The resolve dropdown also contains an option to manually mark the item as resolved. This can be used in situations where no action is required, the issue was operator error, or it was fixed by a quick phone call etc.

Updates

  • Checklist items from a prestart are now grouped by their result. Failed items are at the top so you can easily see what requires actioning.

  • There's a new "Resolved" status for checklist items that were marked as a "Fail" by the operator, but have now been actioned.

  • Quick actions have been added to the top of the menu to instantly create or search for a fault.

  • Applied filters and your scroll position now remain unchanged when you return to the Prestarts or Faults page.

  • The online version of the app now prompts people to download the new mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • There's a new toast message when successful or unsuccessful actions occur.

Cover Image for Inbox

Inbox

If you're looking for a more efficient way to keep track of things, look no further than the new inbox page. This feature will streamline the way you triage prestarts and allow you to quickly action required tasks (like converting failed items into a fault). Each notification also has the option to be snoozed, which will hide it from your inbox until a later point in time.

Once you're done with the item, simply delete the notification and it will be removed from the list. Be sure to check out the keyboard shortcuts as well (up arrow, down arrow, and delete).

Updates

  • The prestart, fault and machine popups have been improved, making it easier to navigate around the system and view related information.

  • There are new badges are around the system for prestarts, faults and machines. Clicking on one will take you directly to that item.

  • Converting a failed item into a fault will now show the "New Fault" popup and repopulate the fields into this popup (rather than immediately creating the fault). This gives you a change to edit or improve any information.

  • All prestarts, faults and machines have a new link button found at the top right of the popup. Clicking on this will copy a URL to your clipboard that can be used to share or reference the item externally.

  • The settings menu item has been moved to the bottom of the navigation bar in place of the notifications item (as these are now in your inbox).

Latest odometer reading

If you manage a fleet of machines, you know how important it is to keep track of their service meter units. Our new feature allows you to view the most recent service meter units for each machine. This way, you can make sure that each machine is being properly serviced according to its needs. We take the latest report from the most recent prestart submission for that machine.

Console updates

  • "Staff" users can now see the machines tab so they can take advantage of the above update.

  • When all failed items from a prestart are converted into a fault, the prestarts outcome will be marked as "resolved". This will show an orange ">>" icon.

  • When adding a new operator into the system, they will automatically get sent a welcome SMS with a link to download the app.

App updates

  • The service meter units input now display the type of metric (hrs or kms) and the last reading that was submitted.

  • You now have the option to submit your prestart or fault right away. This is handy if you already have good mobile coverage and might forget to upload them later. If you know your service is bad, simply click the "Save & submit later" button to upload once you're back online.

  • All the text inputs like location, comments, details etc. are capitalised automatically.

  • We've improved the in-app notifications so you know when something has been completed successfully (or if there was an issue).

  • Shiny new icons on most of the buttons so you know what action to take at a glance.

Cover Image for Offline mode

Offline mode

Over the past few weeks we've built a brand new native mobile application. This means you can download it from the Apple App Store, or Goggle Play Store, and use it in areas of low or no reception. Once you're back online, you can then submit your prestarts and faults.

The new app also significantly improves the onboarding experience for operators. Once the app is downloaded, your team simply input their phone number, login using a one time code sent via sms, then remain logged in.

You can download the new app for Apple devices here, and Android devices here.

Updates

  • The board view now shows all faults by default, rather than applying the default date range

  • You are now required to add a mobile number for every new user. This is so they can access the new app

Cover Image for Manually add a fault

Manually add a fault

You can now manually add a fault from the web portal. Simply click the "Manual Entry" button on the faults page and fill out all the details. This is useful for teams that may still report issues by phone or in person.

All faults entered here will still appear against the machine on the app, so all team members are still aware of anything that's ongoing for the plant they are working on.

Updates

  • Add colours to the status headers on the board view for faults

  • If a fault is marked as a safety hazard, a warning icon is shown on the board view

  • New in app notifications for product updates like this

Board view for faults

You can now view faults in a left-to-right board view, grouped by status. Easily see what's in progress and what needs attention in a visual format. Clicking on the title will open the fault, and you can drag the fault between columns to change its status. Each fault is ordered with the most recently reported at the top of the column.

To toggle the new board view, click the board icon at the top right of the faults page.

Updates

  • Added a "title" to all new faults. These will appear in the board view for easy reference.

  • Updated the email notification for new faults to include the title of the fault being reported.

  • Added a new email notification option for "product updates", so you can learn about these changes as soon as they happen

Cover Image for Notifications

Notifications

You can now receive and configure notifications, both emails and inside the system. Go to the new "My Profile" section and check the boxes for the type of notifications you wish to get.

In app notifications will appear in the new notifications popup (shown in the image above). Clicking on the notification will show the item and mark the notification as read. You can then clear the notifications once you no longer need them.

The email option will send an email to your inbox with the details of the item and a link to open the web console and view more information. These may land in your junk / spam folder initially. If this is the case, simply mark the content as "not junk" and they should appear in your inbox moving forward.

You can opt into receiving notifications for all new faults created by other users, or prestarts where an operator has marked an item as "fail".

Updates

  • The faults page now only shows "New", "Reviewing" and "In Progress" faults to begin with. This means all completed faults are hidden by default.

  • Improved the way we store data, so pages and items should load quicker now and in the future.

  • New "My Profile" section where you can edit your name and notification preferences.

  • Added a loader when uploading an image on the app for prestarts and faults, with the ability to remove the image and take it again.

  • Added a new Support Chat widget incase you run into any issues.

Cover Image for Convert failed item to fault

Convert failed item to fault

Operators can add an optional comment and image when they mark an item as failed. Staff can then convert these items into a fault from the web console and have the fields populate automatically.

This links the fault and prestart submission, so you can click the "View fault (id)" button against the checklist item, and also go to the checklist when viewing the fault.

Updates

  • Improved the look of the prestart submission page

  • Added an "important" option to the question template. This will make the prompt bold and red so operators don't miss it.

  • All items must be checked before the operator can submit their prestart

  • Users can now reset their password

  • Added "SMU" option to the prestart

  • When setting up your machines, there is now the option to "Save and add another" so the popup doesn't disappear
